About

Hey, thanks for checking out my story!

A Californian to my core, I grew up in San Francisco and went to CSU Long Beach for opera and theater. I moved to NYC 10 years ago and now I split my time between New York and LA, spending most of the year based out of Brooklyn. I'll take any excuse to catch some sun and family time in LA though!

Like literally every kid, I memorized Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas, and Mulan were my favorites), and I've seen all the special features on The Incredibles DVD an embarrassing number of times. I was always fascinated by the voice acting and foley artists — guess I should've known then where I'd end up.

I've been active in music my whole life, singing since I was tiny, playing flute since I was 9, and adding piccolo, piano, and now ukulele to that mix. In fact, I spent my young adulthood pursuing an opera career.

That changed in 2021. I'd always had one foot in the acting world, and I happened to take a commercial VO class with the amazing people at VO Workshop NYC (thanks to my roommate at the time — thanks Kamala!). After that, everything snowballed and got a biiit out of hand. I kept taking class after class, signed up for casting websites, and made the leap in 2022. I've been a full-time VO actor ever since.

My long history of acting has served me well in my current endeavors. I started formal training as a tween at the American Conservatory Theater in SF, and got a minor in theater in college. I've continued studying, taking improv at Groundlings, and technique classes at the Barrow Group. VO training has included classes with Sara Sherman, Kari Wahlgren, Alyssa Gentile, Marla Weber-Green, Michael Scott, Andy Roth, Paulette Lifton, Micaela Hicks, and Danny Scott.

Opera

A mezzo-soprano, my old roommate described my voice as "warm dark navy blue." Actual critics have described it as "lush," "powerful," and "splendid." Critics also think I'm funny, having described me as a "quite exciting comedic surprise" and a "delightful comic actor." Even Opera News (RIP) got in on the action, saying I handled my role as Leila in Iolanthe "with skill and humor."

My first experience in an opera was when I was 12, as a gingerbread girl in a San Francisco Opera production of Hänsel & Gretel, and I haven't been able to kick the habit since. I sang with the San Francisco Girls Chorus from 10-17 years old (which was what facilitated the SF Opera opportunity) and even got to spend two weeks touring Japan singing in choral festivals and other concerts.

I love when I can really interact with the audience. I'm part of The Opera Collective, a group of singers who regularly perform in the NYC subway stations, and made a man happy-cry in the Times Square station once.

Comedy

I write and perform with the NYC sketch comedy team Late for Dinner. I have a strong background in improv and an even stronger one in comedy generally, but I never thought I could write until I joined. Turns out I can!

On-Camera Work

I don't get as many opportunities to do on-camera work, but I love being on set so much I'll occasionally pick up background work just to get paid to hang out on set all day and watch everyone work their magic. I've been on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (3 seasons in a row!), Blacklist, and several of the crime procedurals that shoot in New York, like Law & Order.

Songwriting

I picked up ukulele a few years ago and after a while started writing music. It's fun!

Cosplay

I've always been a huge nerd who likes dressing in costumes, but my sister really got me into going to conventions. Our first cosplay was Greg and Wirt from Over the Garden Wall, and now I have big box in my closet with about 8 cosplays ready to go. Oops.
